Her place is in Paradise
In September, I wrote of the Palestinian children's role model - pretty, 18 year-old suicide bomber and children's television presenter Zainab Ali Issa Abu Salem.  The power of this image was not lost on the 'political and social services' wing of Hamas.  The picture below (with caption translated from the Arabic), appeared in issue 38 of the Hamas children's newspaper Alfatah of September 22, 2004.

Her head separated from her pure body, and her Ra'ala [Muslim headscarf] remains to decorate [her face].
Her place is in Paradise, where in the highest heavens, Zainab ... sister [who has been raised to the level] of men.
 
The social and educational wing of Hamas, whose members UNRWA chief Peter Hansen employs without concern, know how to create the right educational environment for Palestinian children.  The magazine has stories, poems and pictures attractive to children, so  that they absorb the accompanying messages of hatred and encouragement to violence, terror and suicide.
 
I simply cannot imagine a children's magazine in Israel - or anywhere in the western world for that matter - containing material like this.

There wouldn't be such, either in Israel or the Western world. To me this is nothing more than raising a child to become a sacrifice to an idol. It makes me ill that anyone could treat a child like that. It is abnormal to the extreme.

Is this photograph for real? I cannot imagine that a severed head would be so pristine were that bodiless person involved in any sort of explosion! Does anybody have the provenance of the image?

I am not sure if it matters. That is the way that Hamas shows it to children in their magazine.

I agree, but it does illustrate the depth they will sink to in order to indoctrinate their kids. Its bad enough showing what happened and distorting the facts, but to put it forward in such an "attractive" way will certainly have the effect of convincing more young kids to embrace this death. Reality of the horror would surely have the opposite effect.

Everyday here in the US our children are subject to glorified violence on television and with the toys they play with. To look down on the palastinians we must first acknowledge our own short comings and the fact that some would consider ours much more violent and corrupt.

You commit the fallacy of argumentum ad hominem(tu quoque). As well, you come across as a racist: you apply a very poor argument to excuse this horror because you don't think of them as human enough or civilized enough to apply a standard of decency to. I think it's called the "little brown brother" syndrome, where one looks down so far on another that they cannot see them as anything but sub-human. If the Catholic or Protestant churches had done this you would be outraged, and you know it.

This only re-inforces my belief that Islam is a religion of violence and hatred. It is so true what Golda Meir said - "there will only be peace in the Middle East when the Arabs (Palestinians) learn to love their children more that they hate the Jews". Maybe then we will be spared the horror of photos like this.

It is amazing how much the media has brain washed you all, it's true! the media is the most powerful weapon on earth beyond any nuclear weapon or any weapons of mass distruction, its so obvious through your words of ignorance, you are like puppets no longer have minds of your own. I hope that this poor brain-washed child of God did meet her maker. I find it disturbing that her superiors could manipulate an innocent girl to do this. This is not Islam. This is sick. The Muslim faith observes the same 7 deadly sins as Jews and Christians. Here we see death motivated by greed, anger, envy and pride. Not to mention suicide (which is an abomination) and murder

too many people forget that the muslim faith builds directly on the old testament and the new testament, it being a sort of a revamp of those two, with additions.
Fundies are bad, regardless of what religion they have. Fundies are bastards that use any religion as an excuse.
